Is Well & Trees legit? An honest answer from the company behind it

If you found this page, you probably saw an ad for a water well at £195 on a website you had never heard of, and you did what any careful person does: you searched. Here is everything we can show you, including the parts that look like red flags, and how to check each one yourself.

Objection 1

"The website is only a few months old."

True. The domain wellandtrees.com was registered in March 2026, and automatic scam checkers rank a young domain as a risk. The company behind it is not young. Well Solidarity was registered in France in April 2023, delivered its first wells the same month, and has been selling wells every day since. The French site, well-solidarity.fr, is the one that carries the history: the gallery, the reviews, the blog, the team.

Check it: the French company register (official, free) and our "Who we are" page.

Objection 2

"There are almost no reviews on Trustpilot for Well & Trees."

Also true, for now. The Well & Trees profile on Trustpilot was opened in October 2026 and English-speaking customers are only starting to leave reviews. The same wells, built by the same teams, have been reviewed 1,072 times by French customers on the Well Solidarity profile, with a 4.6 out of 5 rating. We invite every customer to leave a review when their well is delivered, and we answer the negative ones.

Check it: Well Solidarity on Trustpilot (French, use your browser's translation) and Well & Trees on Trustpilot.

Objection 3

"It's a company, not a charity. Is that even allowed?"

Yes, and we think it is the honest way to do it. A charity asks for a donation and decides later how to use it. We sell a product: one well, one plaque with the name you choose, one proof pack, at a fixed price. You know before paying what you will get and when. The price includes the construction, the plaque, the field team, the photos and the video, the customer service, the taxes and our margin. Because we are a company, there is no Gift Aid, purchases are not tax-deductible, and we never say that a purchase counts as zakat.

What a company can offer that a charity rarely does: a product page with a price and a timeline, a customer service that answers, an order number, a refund policy written in the terms and conditions, and the proof for every single unit rather than a yearly report.

Check it: the legal notice of wellandtrees.com says "company", not "charity", and so does the About page.

Objection 4

"Is a well bought from a company still sadaqah jariyah?"

We are a company, not scholars, so we will not issue a ruling. What we can say is what we do: the well is real, it is built in a village that needs water, the village uses it for years, and your name or the name of your loved one is on it. Whether the reward is written for you is between you and Allah, and depends on your intention, not on the legal form of the people who drilled the hole. Many of our customers asked their imam before ordering. We encourage you to do the same, and to read what the texts say about giving water.

Read: the Well & Trees blog on sadaqah jariyah and water.

Objection 5

"How do I know my well is real and not a stock photo?"

You receive four things for your own well, not for "a well like it": the GPS coordinates, photos of the construction and of the finished well with your plaque, a video of the village using it, and the plaque itself in the pictures with the name you typed at checkout. The delivery takes about three months. Our field teams film every well; that is why the galleries on both sites contain thousands of different wells with different names, and why our ads use our own footage.

Check it: the Well & Trees gallery, the Well Solidarity gallery, and our YouTube channel.

Objection 6

"Why £195 when some charities ask £150 for a hand pump?"

Because the price covers more than the pump. A £150 hand pump from a charity usually comes with a report after 6 to 12 months and a photo of the plaque. Our £195 includes the plaque with up to a full message, the GPS coordinates, the photos, the video, a customer service that answers in English, the field team that films, and a company margin. We do not have Gift Aid to add 25% on top. If you only want the cheapest possible pump and you do not need the proof, a charity may suit you better, and we would rather tell you that than oversell.

Compare: what the Simple Well includes.

Objection 7

"The social media links go to French accounts."

Correct. Well & Trees launched in 2026 and, as of October 2026, our social presence lives on the Well Solidarity accounts: Instagram with more than 60,000 followers, YouTube, TikTok and Facebook. They are in French, but the wells, the villages and the plaques in the videos are the same ones English customers receive. English accounts for Well & Trees are being set up.

Objection 8

"What if something goes wrong?"

You have an order number, a contract, and a team that answers. Write to contact@wellandtrees.com, Monday to Saturday. Cancellations and refunds follow the terms and conditions; in practice, if you write to us before the construction starts, we sort it out. If a plaque has a typo, we redo it. If a pump breaks, our field team repairs it. We have 20,000 customers because we answer.

Objection 9

"Who exactly is behind this?"

The Well Solidarity group. The French company, Well Solidarity, was registered on 1 April 2023 (SIREN 985 160 233). The websites are published by the group's entity named in the legal notice of each site, EcoFutureWorks FZE (Ajman, United Arab Emirates, licence 35862), which invoices the orders. Our marketing and customer service teams are in France, our creative studio is in Bali, Indonesia, and our field partners are in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Uganda, Cameroon and Morocco. The founders are the same people who built Well Solidarity from zero wells to 9,000.

Check it: the legal notice of wellandtrees.com and the legal notice of well-solidarity.fr name the same entity.
